Index Drive

Index a connected drive on one of the user's machines: the MachineSync daemon scans it on-device in tiers (metadata → light → deep) and pushes a lightweight per-file index up, so the drive stays…

Arguments

• machineIdstringoptionalWhich machine the drive is plugged into (machineId from listMachines). Omit only when exactly one machine is active.
• namestringoptionalOptional label for the drive
• pathstringrequiredMount path of the drive to scan, e.g. /Volumes/LaCie
• tierstringoptionalMax scan depth (progressive). metadata = fast names/sizes; light = + cheap text; deep = + PDF/audio text. Defaults to deep.
